East Lothian Community Hospital - Installation 2019

Tonic Arts and Round Table Projects, these permanent pieces are installed in the Palliative Care ward of East Lothians Community Hospital. This commission involved concept developemnt, research and patient participation which helped inform the final pieces of work

I worked on a research phase gathering evidence through staff and patient consultation, this really helped inform the work and give staff and patients agency in the project. The work was also underpinned by critical theory explore 'the ageing eye', and the effects that bright stimulating colours can have on helping people navigate liminal spaces. I created a sequence of large scale images using a series of long exposures in the camera to make striking colour images which help paitents navigate long, somtimes intimidating, hospital corrdiors.
